Marketing Assistant - Edinburgh Instruments
Marketing Assistant (UK & International remit)
Location: Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. Hybrid working.
Salary: £DOE, includes benefits, bonus and pension
Contract: Full time, Permanent

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing Department at our Livingston base in the UK and assist with marketing duties for Edinburgh Instruments and sister companies within the group.
What You’ll Be doing
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant will assist the marketing team on all fronts to provide the Techcomp Group with a fully joined up, collaborative and responsive marketing & communications function. They will assist with content development, digital marketing, website maintenance, exhibition and conferences preparation and webinar organisation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the preparation of mail shots, email campaigns.
- Development and implementation of social media strategy.
- Content strategy and development (inc. writing articles / SEO optimisation).
- Full digital marketing mix.
- Assisting with preparation for events and exhibitions.
- Work with sales teams to help generate leads for business growth.
What You’ll Need to Bring
- Marketing-related qualification or equivalent work experience (minimum 1 year).
- A flair for design and knowledge of marketing tools.
- IT literate with the ability to quickly master software.
- Strong understanding and practical knowledge of social media.
- Experience in working with websites (inc. CMS software) and blogs.
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Media or English/Writing (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience working in a business with either a scientific or technical background would be an advantage.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Personable manner, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to use own initiative whilst prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.

Field Service Engineer - Precisa
Location: Homebased. North M25 corridor; M1 corridor to Leicestershire
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Precisa is part of the Techcomp Europe Group and operates from our newly refurbished facility near Edinburgh, Scotland.
Formed in 1982, Precisa is the exclusive distributor for the United Kingdom and Ireland for all Precisa Gravimetric products.
At the core of our UK business operation, is the co-operation with our sister Company Precisa Gravimetrics AG, located in Zurich, Switzerland. Precisa AG have been manufacturing balances since 1935 with renowned Swiss quality and precision and are globally acknowledged as one of the leading balance manufacturing Companies.
Through the support of our Swiss Company, we sell, support and service all Precisa balances from our UK HQ. To reduce product leadtime and delivery costs, we stock a wide range of balances in Scotland to enable quick and prompt delivery to customer sites around the UK & Ireland. In addition to the support of Precisa balance sales, our engineers are also able to access to our Swiss R&D and Customer Service Centre for technical support and updates.
We are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer that will be homebased but within commutable distance of the North M25 corridor & M1 corridor to Leicestershire.
What You’ll Be doing
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Field Service Engineer will provide UKAS and ISO calibration services for non-automated weighing equipment up to 400kg in the UK.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Travel to customer sites to service, calibrate and the repair of balances of all makes and models to a wide range of industries.
- Plan and organise field work based on monthly schedule.
- Complete accurate service reports, UKAS certificates, and other necessary documents
- Technical knowledge and expertise related to mechanical and electronic equipment preferably in a laboratory environment.
- Report regularly to Service team with regards to work scheduling, progress of work and necessary actions/follow-ups required.
- Promote Service capability and support service business growth and expansion.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Bring
- Technical requirements (BTEC, HNC) in Electronic, mechanical or scientific field or equivalent.
- Prior experience of working in laboratory environment.
- Experience and knowledge about GLP & GMP practices and environments.
- Knowledge or previous work experience of calibration of weighing equipment would be beneficial.
