How To Calibrate The Series 340 Thermogravimetric Analyzer

Balance calibration is vital to sustaining the precision and reliability a weighing balance can provide. For this reason, we have put together a handy video guide, providing useful advice on how to calibrate a Series 340 Thermogravimetric Analyser from Precisa.

If you wish to find out more about the value of balance calibration, read our blog: Precisa’s Guide to Balance and Scale Calibration.

  1. Click the ‘Calibration’ icon
  2. Click the ‘T’ icon to Tare the balance
  3. Click the ‘CAL’ icon to start the calibration
  4. Device performs zero-point measurement
  5. The 50 g calibration weight is requested
  6. Place the calibration weight on the pan
  7. The display will flash
  8. The calibration is complete

The Series 340 Thermogravimetric Analyzer

The Series 340 prepASH® thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) automatically measures moisture, ash and loss on ignition at reduced workload and costs. The entire process is monitored and recorded from start to finish in a closed system. The prepASH is designed as an autonomous device and does not require any additional PC, it is available in 3 models.

Combining furnace, high precision balance and automation, the prepASH Series enables a huge reduction in workload through the simultaneous TGA analysis of moisture, ash, and volatiles content. In one working cycle, 12, 19 and even 29 samples are dried and ashed fully, automatically.
